Domrémy-la-Pucelle ([dɔ̃.ʁe.mi.la.py.sɛl]; literally "Domrémy [of] the maiden", in reference to Joan of Arc) is a commune in the Vosges department in Lorraine in northeastern France.
The village, originally named Domrémy, is the birthplace of Joan of Arc. It has since been renamed Domrémy-la-Pucelle after Joan's nickname, la Pucelle d'Orléans ("the Maid of Orléans").(Wikipedia)
